Dulcita Lieggi is the new Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2012

Carlina Duran has just been dethroned as Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2012 for being a divorced woman. According to the national director Magali Febles, the 25 year old professional model and chef from La Vega who won the crown last week was forced to resigned as it was discovered that she had been married prior joining the pageant.

First runner-up Dulcita Lieggi from Distrito Nacaional will be replacing Carlina Duran as its country’s representative to the Miss Universe 2012 pageant. Dulcita is also a professional model and a candidate of Dominican Republic in Miss Italia nel Mondo 2011.
