There you have it folks, the details above sums up the list of the most destructive typhoons in the Philippines to date. I just hope that there will be no more storms but from the looks of it – the Philippine islands will still be likely hit by more storms in the future as the country is located within the typhoon belt of the Western Pacific.
God help us.

nice compilation of the storms, talagang iniisip ko kung alin ang natatandaan ko…*sigh sadly, wala na akong maalala, matanda na ako, puro puti na ang buhok!
@Mahalia – thanks sis for recognizing my effort. yeah me too, i can’t remember these typhoons. most especially those prior 1980s.
@Out of Town blog – yeah, i’m really hoping hindi na madagdagan pa.
wala si milenyo?
@Fr. Felmar Castrodes Fiel, SVD – Milenyo is not included po based on my research. But that typhoon was a strong one too.
I believe lack of knowledge people parish.
We need to understand,This typhoon or other
calamity we are facing is not gonna go away.
“GOD”said dont be alarmed this things will
come, but build your house in a strong founda-
tion, and in a safer place.”HE” gave us this
world for us to be Responsible, and thats our
Purpose in life.Faith with out action is dead.
“GOD” said be Multiply, but be responsible to
your Family, and to this world, not only we are
populating this world, but we are cluttering it.
We need to educate many about Financial Family
planning, because majority of our population is
financially corrupt. If 90 percent of our popu-
lation dont have “GODLY” Moral Principle,or
Biblical Wisdom many will suffer.”JESUS”said
dont try to figure me out with your own under
standing, even thu you are prophesising my
Name, but you hypocrite you practice lawlesness
i never knew you.No One Comes to the “FATHER”
EXCEPT THRU “ME”.I AM THE WAY THE TRUTH AND
LIFE”.Depart from me your worse enemy live
inside you.History is”GOD”story.
dangal,”BY MY GRACE YOU ARE SAVE”,Not of
your own good work,or your own goodness.
If you think the religeous righteous,or the
political power, and the people power will
save the world you must be on denial.Pride,
Ego,Self-Rihteousness,and popularity are the
greatest sin in the Bible. Our form of
government,or our form of leadership is base
upon “GOD” Standard. We appear so beautiful
outward, but inside we are full of dead mens
bone.”GOD”so Love the World that”HE” sacri-
fice”HIM SELF” for all our sin.Glorify “ME”.
“GOD BLESS PHILIPPINES”
@an2nette – i hope so ms. an2nette. however, phils is included in the typhoon belt area so it’s possible we can have them again. sadly, this is the reality.
Follow me too ate- http://twitter.com/superjeniffer08
@Idigeo – halos pareho tayo idigeo. from my point of view now, this typhoon has something to do with the climate change.
I remembered and experienced Ruping when it hit Cebu in 1990. It crippled the city for more than a month. That was when I saw waves as high as a 5 story building, and cars would move even on handbrakes. It was a super typhoon. Grabe, sana tapos na yung bagyo this year.
This is a good compilation Snow. Bakit kaya wala si Milenyo sa list? Pre-2000 kaya yan list?
Typhoon ondoy left massive destruction to our country, the great flood in manila recently makes the filipino people shock.
Then it was follows another stronger typhoon that hits northern luzon.
But we hope that there will be more calamity such us this.. kawawa ang ating mga kababayan.
The good thing only is,there is a unity among Filipino people to help those in needs, the victims of this natural calamity.
Nice compilation snow, very informative.
Actually, I think this is a scary list. Just imagine how many lives were lost.
But then, I think we can somehow minimize the damage if only all of us will love Mother Nature.
Thanks!
My gosh this is really scary…ano pa kaya darating sa susunod. We should really all get our acts together and start caring more for our planet
It is so sad that the Philippines is often in the path of these all-too-destructive storms. It is like a curse.
I hope we get to be prepared for them all the time…
salamat =)
Great effort to compile the strongest most destructive storm the country had. I hope the government officials are already waking up to do something to take care of our environment. We as individuals can also do something to protect our mother nature. Let’s make this a wake up call.
Hello,
Can we exchange banner/link? Please let me know if it is ok. My email is mjeoffice@aol.com. My website is http://filipinoconnect.com
Thank you so much!
As nearby neighbour (Sabah, Malaysia), we had a sniff of the typhoon when it hit the Philippines. We are deeply saddened by the news.
if I’m not mistaken kay Rosing ko unang na-experience na bahain ang bahay. pangalawa si Ondoy.
grabee yung kay Uring 5k-8k ang deaths?
Pero personally, pinakamalakas sa akin si Ondoy kasi first time na binaha ang bahay namin.
Sana wala ng Ondoy at Peping part 2.
